De walvis wilde meer (4+)
'The whale wanted more' is a beautiful underwater story about the search for friendship, for children from 4 years old.
Deep, deep in the sea lives a whale. He wakes up every morning with a gnawning sensation in his stomach. It's like there's a big hole, but he's not hungry. So what's missing then?
To fill the void, the whale goes in search of stuff. The most beautiful treasures from the deep sea, special things from shipwrecks. One day he sees a beautiful coral reef - maybe that's what he's looking for? But then a brave little crab makes him think. Maybe the whale can't fill the hole with collecting stuff, but rather by giving something to someone else.
Writer Rachel Bright and illustrator Jim Field are the duo behind popular picture books such as 'Two fighting squirrels', 'Let go, Koala' and 'Wolfje wants to go home'. All their animal stories are beautiful to see, wonderfully in rhyme and contain a wise lesson.
